Buying a Number Plate for a New Car
For a new vehicle, timing matters because the car may not have arrived or been registered yet. We look at a few key details before you move forward:
- Your selected registration number
- The final selling price
- Your expected vehicle arrival
- Whether your dealer's runner or an S1-assisted runner will handle the process
You then pay a 10% deposit, subject to a minimum of RM2,000. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, and we issue an invoice showing the registration number, selling price and deposit paid.

If Your New Vehicle Is Arriving Within 60 Days
If a PUSPAKOM B2 inspection is required, let our team know at least five working days before your vehicle arrives so the necessary arrangements can be made.
Here is what to keep in mind:
- Vehicle arriving within 60 days: Give us enough notice to arrange the required B2 inspection.
- After the B2 process: Pay the remaining balance so the required JPJ steps can continue.
- Vehicle not arriving within 60 days: The remaining balance is still due within the agreed 60-day period.
