The first thing we recommend checking is the complete registration number you intend to purchase. Because paying a deposit commits you to the selected registration number, every letter and digit should match the number you have confirmed.

Before paying, double-check:

• The full alphabet combination
• The correct digits
• The registration number shown in the transaction details
• That it is the exact number you intend to purchase

Confirm the Final Selling Price and Possible Fees

Before making a deposit, confirm the final agreed selling price and understand which services or charges are included. This avoids confusion between the price of the registration number and fees that may apply to additional procedures.

For example, an additional interchange service fee may apply if our team handles the interchange. If the vehicle dealer's runner handles the arrangement instead, we do not charge that additional S1 interchange service fee.

Buyers should also confirm whether the number plate price includes interchange fees before making payment.

Understand What Your Deposit Commits You To

Deposit conditions are important because payment commits you to the selected registration number.

For S1 transactions:

• Deposit: 10% of the selling price
• Minimum deposit: RM2,000
• Deposit is non-refundable
• Deposit is non-transferable
• Deposit cannot be transferred to another registration number

Make sure you are comfortable with the selected registration number and these conditions before paying. It is also useful to know what happens after you pay a number plate deposit.

Confirm Whether It Is for a New or Used Vehicle

Decide Who Will Handle the Required Procedures

Customers may use their vehicle dealer's runner or an S1-assisted runner for the relevant procedures. This should be decided before payment because it affects how the later arrangements are coordinated and whether an additional interchange service fee may apply.

Make Sure You Can Prepare the Required Documents

Individual buyers generally need front and back copies of their IC, while company buyers generally need relevant SSM documentation. Additional documents may depend on the specific transaction and vehicle arrangement.

Check Your Vehicle Timing Before You Commit

Vehicle timing is particularly important when buying a number plate before your new car arrives.

If your new vehicle will arrive within the relevant 60-day period, notify the person in charge at least five working days in advance so the relevant PUSPAKOM B2 inspection can be arranged. If the vehicle does not arrive within 60 days, the remaining balance is still due within that 60-day period to complete the transaction arrangement.
